CCTV Drain Inspections Gold Coast

A camera runs through the pipe, so the choice between clearing and repairing is made on what is actually down there. Sewage coming up inside the house is emergency plumbing. You find out what is wrong before you pay to fix it.

What a CCTV drain inspection is for

A CCTV drain inspection puts a small camera into the pipe, so the inside of an underground drain can be seen without digging it up. It answers the question that clearing cannot: why does this keep blocking?

It is most useful when a drain keeps blocking after being cleared, when a downpipe backs up and the gutter is clean, or when a repair means digging and you want to know where the problem actually is. If the camera finds a blockage, it leads into sewer drain clearing or stormwater drain work.

You are told what the camera found, where, and whether it needs clearing or a pipe repair.

What a camera can show

  • Tree roots in the pipe

Including where they got in, which decides between clearing and repair.

  • A cracked or collapsed section

Damage that clearing alone will never fix.

  • A dip where water sits

A sagging section holds waste and blocks again and again.

  • A joint that has shifted

An opening where roots and silt can get in.

  • The blockage itself

What it is and exactly where it sits.

When an inspection is worth having

  • A drain that keeps blocking

Clearing it again without knowing the cause just repeats the job.

  • A downpipe that backs up with a clean gutter

The blockage is in the pipe under the ground.

  • Slow drains throughout the house

It tells you whether the main line is damaged or only blocked.

  • Before you agree to a repair that involves digging

So the digging is in the right place.

Find the problem before anything is dug up

Underground pipe is not something to dig for on a guess. A camera tells us where the problem is, so any digging is in one place instead of along the whole run. If sewage is coming up inside the house, call us now: this is emergency plumbing.

Before you book a CCTV drain inspection

A small camera is fed into the drain, so the inside of the pipe can be seen without digging. It shows what is blocking the pipe, what state the pipe is in and where any problem sits. We tell you what it found and what we recommend.

When a drain keeps blocking after being cleared, when a downpipe backs up even though the gutter is clean, or before you agree to a repair that involves digging. In each case, clearing or digging without knowing the cause can mean paying twice.

Yes. Roots in a pipe show on camera, along with where they got in. Roots enter through joints and cracks and grow back through the same gap, so knowing where they entered helps decide between clearing and repair.

No. The inspection finds the cause. If the camera finds a blockage, clearing it is a separate job, covered by sewer drain clearing for the main line.

Yes. A camera can go through a stormwater pipe as well as a sewer line, which helps when a downpipe or yard pit keeps backing up. See blocked stormwater drains for what that involves.

How much pipe has to be looked at, how easy it is to reach, and what the camera finds. If it finds a problem, the repair is priced separately. Whatever the job is, you get a written price before we start.
